Reading Genres Interactive Notebook Unit

Genre Unit to Dig Deeper Into Reading Genres

This resource includes a printable and a digital reading unit to teach genres to middle school students. This genre reading unit includes reading response examples, mini lessons, interactive notebooks pages, genre reading posters, rubrics, and assessments.

This unit includes everything you need to teach, and dig deeper, into reading literature genres and nonfiction genres in middle school.

As an upper grade teacher, I often find that I assume my students have an understanding of literary information like genres. My 5th-8th graders tend to have a basic and simple understanding of things like genre, but I want them to really be able to analyze and dig deep into these concepts and that is the reason for these types of units.
